COMMERCIAL EXCHANGE RATE POLICY – SICRO TRAVEL

At SICRO TRAVEL, we aim to provide every client with clear and transparent information regarding the price of travel services and the way amounts payable in Moldovan lei are calculated.

Some travel services are contracted or calculated in foreign currency, particularly in euros. Where payment is made in Moldovan lei, the amount payable is calculated according to the commercial exchange rate applicable to the relevant service and valid on the date of payment.

1. How we apply the commercial exchange rate

1.1. Trips and hiking tours organised by SICRO TRAVEL

For excursions, hiking tours and other trips organised directly by SICRO TRAVEL, where the price is expressed in a foreign currency and payment is made in Moldovan lei, the MAIB S.A. commercial exchange rate for legal entities applicable on the date of payment is used, unless otherwise indicated for the relevant trip.

The exchange rate used for the calculation is communicated to the Client at the time of payment.

1.2. International holidays and services provided through partners

For seaside holidays, mountain holidays, spa and wellness stays, city breaks and other travel services booked through tour operators, hotels or other external partners, the commercial exchange rate communicated by the relevant service provider may be applied.

In such cases, SICRO TRAVEL calculates the amount payable in Moldovan lei in accordance with the commercial conditions applicable to the booking and informs the Client of the exchange rate used before payment is made.

2. Exchange rate applicable on the date of payment

The commercial exchange rate is determined according to the rate applicable on the date the payment is made.

Therefore, if the exchange rate changes between the booking date and the payment date, the amount expressed in Moldovan lei may be different.

3. Payments in several instalments

Where a booking is paid in several instalments, each instalment is calculated separately using the commercial exchange rate applicable on the date the respective payment is made, unless another mechanism has been expressly established for the relevant booking.

For example, if the deposit is paid on one date and the final payment is made later, the two payments may have different equivalents in Moldovan lei as a result of changes in the commercial exchange rate.

4. Prices displayed on the website

For trips organised directly by SICRO TRAVEL, prices may be displayed in euros or another currency depending on the service offered.

Where the Client pays in Moldovan lei, the final amount in MDL is calculated in accordance with the rules set out in this Policy.

For certain individual holidays, hotel services or packages provided by external partners, the prices displayed on the website may be indicative or shown as “from” prices, because availability and the final rate may be changed by the supplier until the booking is confirmed.

5. Confirmation of the exchange rate before payment

The Client may request confirmation of the commercial exchange rate and the exact amount payable in Moldovan lei before making payment.

At the Client's request, the SICRO TRAVEL team may provide:

• the price of the service in the base currency;
• the commercial exchange rate used for the calculation;
• the resulting equivalent in Moldovan lei;
• the remaining amount payable in the case of instalment payments.

6. Payment methods

Depending on the booked service, payment may be made by:

• cash at the SICRO TRAVEL office;
• bank card via POS terminal;
• online bank card payment;
• MIA Instant Payments;
• bank transfer.

Where payments are made through banking systems or payment processors, certain technical or banking conditions may apply to the transaction which are outside SICRO TRAVEL's control.

7. Transparency of the calculation

SICRO TRAVEL aims to ensure that the method used to calculate amounts payable in Moldovan lei is clear and verifiable for the Client.

Before confirming a booking or making a payment, the Client may request explanations regarding the price, the commercial exchange rate applied and the final amount payable.

If a different exchange-rate rule applies to a particular service than the one set out in this Policy, it will be communicated to the Client in the offer, booking or documents relating to the relevant trip.

8. Updates to the Commercial Exchange Rate Policy

SICRO TRAVEL may update this Policy where calculation methods, contractual partners, payment procedures or other conditions relevant to determining the equivalent amount in Moldovan lei change.

The updated version will be published on sicro.md together with the date of the most recent update.
